Clinical Officer – Specialized NCD Clinic (Part-Time)

About the role

Jacaranda Maternity is seeking a part‑time Clinical Officer to join its Specialized Non‑Communicable Disease (NCD) Clinic. You will provide comprehensive care for patients with chronic conditions such as hypertension, diabetes, cardiovascular disease, asthma, COPD, chronic kidney disease, and obesity.

Key responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose, treat and follow‑up patients with chronic NCDs.
• Develop individualized management plans based on evidence‑based guidelines.
• Educate patients on lifestyle changes, medication adherence and self‑management.
• Coordinate referrals to specialists and ensure continuity of care.
• Document all clinical activities in the Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system.

Required profile

• Diploma in Clinical Medicine and Surgery from a recognized institution.
• Current registration and valid practicing license with the Clinical Officers Council of Kenya.
• Post‑graduate qualification in NCD Management.
• Minimum three years of experience managing NCD patients in a hospital or outpatient setting.
• Strong clinical assessment, communication and patient counselling abilities.

Required skills

• Electronic Medical Records (EMR) usage.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
