Clinical Quality & Compliance Officer

About the role

The Clinical Quality & Compliance Officer will monitor clinical quality, documentation and regulatory compliance for overseas community care and disability providers. This non‑clinical position focuses on identifying gaps, documenting findings and escalating issues to the clinical team.

Key responsibilities

• Review daily care and progress notes to spot concerning patterns.
• Check care plans (mealtime/swallowing, epilepsy, behaviour support, medication) against documented practice.
• Maintain incident and complaint registers and draft regulatory notifications.
• Prepare and keep audit evidence; conduct internal audits and highlight compliance gaps.
• Handle overnight escalation calls, gather facts, document accurately and forward to the appropriate clinical team.
• Develop clinical procedures, red‑flag checklists and training materials.

Required profile

• One of the following qualifications: Kenya Registered Community Health Nurse (KRCHN), Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN), or Diploma in Clinical Medicine and Surgery (Clinical Officer).
• Current professional registration and a valid practising licence.
• 0–4 years of experience; recent graduates are welcome.
• Experience in hospital accreditation, quality improvement, clinical audit, infection prevention, health records/medical coding, health information systems, monitoring and evaluation, or research assistance is advantageous.
