About the role
The Kenya Medical Research Institute (KEMRI), in partnership with the Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine, is seeking a Clinical Research Scientist to lead the implementation of the PRISMA MNH study in Western Kenya. The role involves overseeing all stages of research, from protocol development to fieldwork coordination, and ensuring robust stakeholder engagement.
Key responsibilities
- Oversee development and implementation of the PRISMA MNH study in Western Kenya.
- Maintain sustained engagement with national and sub‑national Ministry of Health partners.
- Chair in‑country management meetings and prepare standard operating procedures.
- Write study protocols and manage submission of protocol amendments to the SERU.
- Coordinate fieldwork activities and supervise pre‑clinical and clinical research tasks.
- Guide visiting scientific students and support internal scientific seminars.
- Plan and coordinate meetings with internal project teams and external collaborators.
- Participate in community diagnosis, care, and treatment during CSR activities.
