Commercial & Regional Director – East Africa (Fintech)

About the role

Optasia is seeking a visionary Commercial & Regional Director to lead its East Africa fintech operations. The role combines strategic commercial leadership with full responsibility for regional performance, financial results, and people management.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute the commercial strategy for the assigned customer portfolio and region.
• Act as General Manager of the regional office, aligning commercial, operational and financial goals with Optasia’s global strategy.
• Oversee revenue generation, cost optimisation, compliance and operational delivery across the region.
• Accurately forecast financial performance, manage the annual budget and drive adoption of Optasia’s products and services.
• Lead, coach and develop a high‑performing team of regional and account managers.
• Build and maintain relationships with senior executives, negotiate high‑value contracts and strategic alliances.
• Represent Optasia at industry events to enhance brand visibility.

Required profile

• Proven senior leadership experience in telecoms, mobile financial services or fintech.
• Track record of building and leading high‑performing teams.
• Strong strategic thinking and commercial acumen.
• Excellent stakeholder management and negotiation skills.
