Cook II – US Navy Support on Diego Garcia

About the role

Amentum is seeking a Cook II to provide high‑quality, nutritionally balanced meals for a unique U.S. Navy program stationed on Diego Garcia. The role involves preparing a wide variety of menu items while upholding strict food safety and sanitation standards in a professional, welcoming environment.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and serve meals, snacks, and beverages that meet nutritional guidelines and high taste standards.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of all food preparation, storage, serving, and dining areas.
• Communicate menu item availability, marking unavailable items and informing customers of shortages.
• Complete mandatory food sanitation training (four hours within the first 30 days and four hours annually).
• Collaborate with other food‑service staff to meet production schedules and ensure customer satisfaction.
• Monitor food quality, safety, and proper storage to prevent spoilage.
• Assist with snack, fast‑food, and beverage preparation as needed.

Required profile

• Minimum two years of experience preparing and serving complex menu items.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Knowledge of food safety and sanitation procedures.
• Ability to pass contract medical requirements and maintain compliance throughout deployment.
• Valid passport (minimum one year) and ability to obtain required visas and facility credentials.
• Proficiency in English sufficient to perform duties and follow emergency procedures.
