Dental Cardiovascular Technician – Nairobi

About the role

The Dental Cardiovascular Technician will support the Dental/Oral Surgery Unit by performing cardiac assessments, monitoring high‑risk patients, and ensuring patient safety before, during, and after complex dental procedures. This entry‑level position is based in Nairobi and works closely with dentists, oral surgeons, and anaesthesiologists.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct ECG/EKG testing, vital‑sign monitoring, and cardiac risk assessments for patients undergoing dental surgery.
• Monitor patients with pre‑existing cardiovascular conditions throughout the procedure.
• Review medical histories and evaluate cardiac risks related to local anaesthesia or sedation.
• Maintain emergency cardiac equipment and code carts, and respond promptly to any cardiac complications.
• Assist clinicians during examinations and procedures, and ensure accurate documentation of ECG results and monitoring reports.
• Follow infection control, health‑safety, and quality‑assurance protocols.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Cardiovascular Technology, Cardiac Physiology, or a related field.
• Valid registration/licensing with the appropriate medical regulatory body.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in a hospital, clinical, or outpatient surgery setting.

Required skills
