Deputy Registrar – Academics & Student Affairs

About the role

The Deputy Registrar, Academics & Student Affairs oversees admissions, student records and campus security operations, ensuring compliance with academic policies and safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee security and safety operations across the campus, including event security and special assignments.
• Manage access control systems, conduct searches, vet visitors and issue gatepasses for persons and vehicles.
• Prepare and submit weekly and monthly reports on security threats affecting university assets.
• Coordinate CCTV surveillance, conduct internal investigations and recommend corrective actions.
• Supervise outsourced security personnel, conduct audits and provide recommendations to the Head of Department.
• Maintain liaison with law enforcement agencies and conduct security awareness programs for staff and students.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Criminology, Forensic Investigation, Security Management or a related field.
• At least six (6) years of relevant experience, with three (3) years at a senior security level in a university or comparable organization.
• Military or paramilitary training as a Non‑Commissioned Officer.
• Certificate of good conduct from the Kenya Police and, where applicable, a certificate of honorable discharge.
• Ability to maintain high integrity and confidentiality.
