About the role

The Executive Chef will lead the culinary team at &Beyond Suyian Lodge in Laikipia, Kenya, delivering exceptional food experiences for guests and staff. This senior position requires strong leadership, cost control, and a passion for sustainability in a remote luxury safari environment.

Key responsibilities

• Manage kitchen budgeting, ordering, inventory, and cost control while considering remote logistics.
• Maintain HACCP standards, food safety, hygiene, and equipment maintenance.
• Develop innovative, locally‑sourced menus, control waste, and ensure consistent food quality.
• Lead, train, and motivate kitchen staff, handling rosters, performance, and development.
• Engage with guests to personalize dining experiences and resolve any food‑related concerns.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of senior culinary leadership experience, preferably in 5‑star luxury lodges or safari settings.
• Proven ability to manage food costs, procurement, and remote supply chains.
• Strong knowledge of HACCP, food safety regulations, and sustainable sourcing practices.
• Excellent communication in English and ability to work independently in a remote environment.
