About the role
Save the Children Kenya is seeking a Finance Intern to support its finance team in delivering accurate financial reporting and efficient treasury operations. This role offers hands‑on experience in a humanitarian organization with a presence across multiple regions of Kenya.
Key responsibilities
- Assist with invoice reconciliation on the ProSave platform, ensuring documentation is accurate and complete.
- Prepare and authorise Mpesa payment vouchers and support payment processing.
- Support filing, archiving and backup of finance documents in the Document Management System (DMS).
- Maintain the General Ledger and Cash Offline Spreadsheets (GLACOS) with correct charge codes.
- Participate in monthly bank reconciliations and payroll statutory deductions.
- Perform weekly single‑account and balance‑sheet reconciliations and prepare schedules for review.
- Prepare adjustment and reallocation journal entries.
- Assist with audit requirements and ensure compliance with Save the Children policies.
Required profile
- Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a finance, accounting or related programme.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work with financial documents.
- Good organisational skills and ability to meet deadlines.
- Interest in humanitarian work and willingness to learn.
