About the role
The Cost Accountant – Electric is responsible for end‑to‑end cost management, analysis and reporting to support commercial decision‑making across electric markets. The role translates operational and sales data into actionable financial insights for senior leadership.
Key responsibilities
- Lead preparation and refinement of unit economics for all electric markets and sales channels (PAYGO, B2B, B2C, country activations).
- Maintain accurate standard costs for all electric BU SKUs and components; perform standard‑vs‑actual cost analysis.
- Estimate landed, production and market‑specific costs for new markets and product expansions.
- Prepare monthly and quarterly COGS and COGM reports; validate inventory transactions, adjustments and valuations.
- Analyse production and distribution cost trends; advise on risk areas.
- Support annual budgeting and monthly forecasting; track OPEX, logistics, distribution, warranty and field expenses.
- Lead profitability and contribution margin analysis for all electric markets; produce country, product and channel profitability reports.
- Provide strategic cost insights to senior finance leaders for pricing, expansion and operational decisions.
- Validate country‑specific cost inputs (freight, warehousing, duties, landed cost changes) and ensure consistent costing standards across Kenya, Tanzania, Ghana, Nigeria and future markets.
- Partner with senior electric business leadership on cost modelling, business cases and commercial strategy.
