Fleet Monitoring Team Leader

About the role

The Fleet Monitoring Team Leader will head the team responsible for real‑time tracking of all company vehicles. You will ensure driver compliance, improve fleet safety, reduce operational risks and optimise vehicle utilisation across the organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise daily activities of Fleet Monitoring Officers and manage shift schedules.
• Maintain 24/7 GPS and telematics monitoring of the entire vehicle fleet.
• Review and investigate alerts such as speeding, unauthorised use, geofence breaches, harsh driving, idling and route deviations.
• Escalate critical incidents promptly to management.
• Monitor fuel consumption trends and probe suspected misuse or theft.
• Prepare daily, weekly and monthly performance reports and analyse data to recommend efficiency improvements.
• Ensure tracking devices and telematics systems are functional, coordinating repairs when needed.
• Collaborate with Operations, HSE, Security and Maintenance on fleet‑related matters.
• Support accident investigations by providing GPS and telematics evidence.
• Uphold compliance with company policies, customer requirements and traffic regulations.
• Coach, mentor and evaluate monitoring officers, fostering a culture of safety and accountability.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Transport Management, Logistics, Fleet Management, Mechanical Engineering, Business Administration or related field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in fleet operations, including at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
• Proven experience using GPS tracking and fleet management systems.
