Hand Hygiene and WASH in Schools Consultant

About the role

UNICEF is seeking a consultant to finalize and pilot its Hand Hygiene Implementation Toolkit, with a focus on school settings in two African countries. The role is remote‑based with travel to field sites and supports UNICEF’s broader WASH objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Finalize the Hand Hygiene Implementation Toolkit, including training modules and assessment tools.
• Support piloting of the Toolkit in at least two UNICEF Country Offices.
• Incorporate feedback from country offices and partners to produce a public version of the Toolkit.
• Develop knowledge and communication products documenting Toolkit use.
• Adapt the Toolkit for school environments and provide technical assistance on WASH in health‑care facilities as needed.

Required profile

• Proven experience in WASH, hand‑hygiene programs, or related public‑health initiatives.
• Familiarity with WHO‑UNICEF guidelines and implementation in low‑resource settings.
• Ability to work remotely while traveling to field locations.
• Strong analytical and reporting skills.
