Head of Quality Assurance & Academic Excellence

About the role

Provide strategic leadership and oversight of institutional quality assurance and academic excellence. Ensure development and implementation of quality systems, academic standards, curriculum relevance, and continuous improvement frameworks that support excellence in teaching, learning, and service delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, monitor and implement academic excellence and quality assurance strategies, policies, frameworks, procedures and standards.
• Lead internal and external audit processes, prepare reports and drive recommendations for improvement.
• Participate in curriculum review, ensuring compliance with the Commission for Higher Education, university standards and market requirements.
• Identify emerging educational trends and propose new curriculum offerings or redesigns.
• Set up quality controls, audit teaching and non‑teaching processes, and recommend enhancements.
• Facilitate workshops and meetings to sensitize staff on academic excellence and quality assurance standards.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in a relevant field and relevant professional qualification.
• Minimum eight (8) years of relevant work experience, preferably at senior level.
• Member of a relevant professional body.
• Executive disposition with high integrity and strong strategic management skills.
• Ability to develop long‑term integrated operational plans and translate strategy into action.
