Heavy Goods Vehicle (HGV) Driver – Night Shunting

About the role

DHL Supply Chain East Africa is seeking qualified Heavy Goods Vehicle (HGV) drivers for night‑shunting operations at a client site. The role involves safe, efficient and timely loading, docking and shunting of trucks during night hours, ensuring compliance with company, client and legislative standards.

Key responsibilities

• Load and unload products at the client site within defined KPIs.
• Dock trucks at the loading bay and shunt loaded trucks to Kasarani.
• Conduct routine vehicle checks and report any anomalies promptly.
• Maintain accurate documentation for each trip and ensure proper filing in the Tramm mobile system.
• Adhere to traffic laws, DHL safety policies and the Working Time Directive.
• Report risks, near‑misses, breakdowns and accidents to supervisors in a timely manner.
• Achieve target fuel consumption levels (km/L) for the assigned vehicle.

Required profile

• Valid Heavy Goods Vehicle (HGV) licence.
• Availability to work night shifts.
• Good knowledge of road safety and traffic regulations.
• Ability to follow standard operating procedures for loading and unloading.
• Willingness to represent DHL professionally to customers.
