Insurance Authorization and Eligibility Specialist

About the role

We are seeking an Insurance Authorization and Eligibility Specialist to verify patient insurance coverage, obtain pre‑authorizations, and ensure eligibility for services within our healthcare operations.

Key responsibilities

• Confirm insurance coverage for services and procedures according to each patient’s plan.
• Obtain necessary pre‑authorizations or referrals before appointments and procedures.
• Conduct regular eligibility checks to keep patient coverage up‑to‑date.
• Serve as liaison between patients, providers, and insurers, communicating decisions and alternatives.
• Maintain accurate records of interactions, authorizations, and correspondence.
• Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations and patient confidentiality.
• Educate patients about their insurance benefits and responsibilities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Business, Finance or related field.
• Minimum 2 years experience in insurance verification, medical billing or similar within a healthcare setting.
• Strong attention to detail, analytical problem‑solving, and patient‑centric attitude.

Required skills

• Proficiency with medical software systems.
