Lead Auditor – Food Certification (Southern & Eastern Africa)

About the role

QIMA is launching a Certification Business Unit across Southern and Eastern Africa and seeks a Lead Auditor to drive the commercial launch and deliver high‑quality food safety audits. This role blends technical auditing expertise with entrepreneurial business development.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the commercial launch and growth of QIMA’s certification services in Southern and Eastern Africa, building a pipeline of prospects and converting them into long‑term partners.
• Conduct food safety and quality certification audits (HACCP, BRCGS, Global GAP) as a qualified Lead Auditor, ensuring strict compliance with accreditation standards.
• Develop and nurture relationships with food producers, growers, processors, and retailers to position QIMA as the preferred certification body.
• Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and regulatory changes to continuously refine the certification offering.
• Report directly to the QuantiLAB Regional Director and collaborate with the Certification & Operations team.

Required profile

• Extensive knowledge of food safety standards such as BRCGS, HACCP, and Global GAP.
• Proven experience as a Lead Auditor in the food industry.
• Entrepreneurial mindset with a track record of building new business streams.
• Strong client‑facing skills and ability to develop long‑term partnerships.
• Willingness to travel extensively across the region.
