Maua Customer Development Representative

About the role

The Maua Customer Development Representative will lead Mars’ Maua program in Kenya, creating livelihood opportunities for under‑privileged youth by managing last‑mile distribution in slums and remote rural areas. You will recruit, train and support a network of micro‑entrepreneurs while ensuring the growth of social, human and shared financial capital within the ecosystem.

Key responsibilities

• Recruit, train and retain micro‑entrepreneurs (Uplifters, Hawkers, Stockpoints) in hard‑to‑reach communities.
• Identify new geographic areas for expansion and develop rollout plans and routes.
• Achieve sales volume targets and coordinate with internal teams to guarantee stock availability.
• Deliver training through the MAUA Academy, mentorship and other capacity‑building programmes.
• Manage local operations, including budgeting, performance reporting and representation in stakeholder meetings.
• Collect and encode data to measure program impact, tracking both financial and non‑financial metrics.

Required profile

• University degree, preferably in Entrepreneurship, Sustainability or Business Management.
• Minimum 5 years of experience managing livelihood improvement projects in the private sector or NGOs.
• Passion for driving economic growth for underserved populations and willingness to work in slums and remote areas.
• Strong oral and written communication skills; working knowledge of Kiswahili is essential.
• Comfortable operating in an agile, startup‑like business environment.
