Lecturer – Community Health Nursing

About the role

The AG German Institute is seeking a part‑time Lecturer in Community Health Nursing to join its Nursing School in Nairobi. The role involves delivering curriculum content, coordinating community placements and preparing students for professional practice.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, design and deliver evidence‑based lectures, practical sessions and laboratory work aligned with the approved nursing curriculum.
• Register and monitor student attendance and manage ongoing assessments, examinations and continuous evaluation.
• Supervise student research projects, fieldwork, case‑study portfolios and clinical competency assessments.
• Provide mentorship and clinical supervision, ensuring compliance with Nursing Council of Kenya regulations.
• Develop instructional materials, contribute to admission and induction processes and participate in departmental committees.
• Collect and act on learner feedback to improve teaching methods.

Required profile

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing with a specialization in Community Health Nursing or equivalent.
• Minimum three years of experience in community health nursing education.
• Valid practice licence from the Nursing Council of Kenya.

Required skills

• In‑depth knowledge of the Nursing Council of Kenya curriculum structure.
• Lesson planning and development of Objective Structured Clinical Examinations (OSCEs).
• Design and grading of clinical competency assessments.
• Meticulous, result‑oriented approach to teaching and assessment.
