Managing Consultant – Environmental & Social Due Diligence

About the role

ERM Africa is looking for a Managing Consultant to lead its Environmental & Social Due Diligence (ESDD) practice across the region. You will work at the intersection of sustainability, finance and risk management, supporting high‑profile investment, development and infrastructure projects.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and deliver complex environmental and social due diligence assignments for major projects.
• Manage project teams, ensuring technical excellence and timely delivery.
• Provide transaction advisory and sustainable finance guidance to clients.
• Develop and grow the ESDD practice, contributing to business development and thought leadership.
• Mentor junior consultants and support people‑leadership initiatives.

Required profile

• Significant experience in environmental and social due diligence, preferably within a consulting environment.
• Commercially minded with a strong understanding of sustainable finance and risk management.
• Proven ability to manage projects and lead multidisciplinary teams.
• Excellent communication skills and the capacity to influence senior stakeholders.
