MEAL Officer – Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability & Learning

About the role

The Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL) Officer will lead outcome measurement and data analysis for the SRHR Next programme, supporting partners in developing and implementing effective MEAL strategies. The role is based in Nairobi and works closely with partner organisations and the Alliance’s learning agenda.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct outcome measurement and other MEAL assignments for the SRHR Next programme in collaboration with partners.
• Develop and implement a strategy for documenting and disseminating programme results to partners and stakeholders.
• Analyse qualitative and quantitative data, produce critical evaluations and interpret findings.
• Provide technical assistance and training on MEAL tools and methodologies to SRHR Alliance programmes and partners.
• Contribute to cross‑country lessons learned, best practices and ensure timely submission of reports and deliverables.
• Represent the Alliance as the SRHR Next programme lead in national and global working groups.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Monitoring & Evaluation, Development Studies, Statistics, Public Health or related field (Master’s preferred).
• 2–5 years of experience in MEAL/PMEL, data management or development programmes, preferably in an NGO SRHR environment.
• Experience working with government agencies, communities and youth on adolescent sexual and reproductive health.
• Strong analytical, report writing and facilitation skills with a professional attitude.

Required skills

• Proficiency with data collection tools such as Kobo Toolbox, ODK and CommCare.
• Ability to design, implement and assure quality of data collection processes.
• Competence in quantitative and qualitative data analysis and interpretation.
