Medical Science Liaison – East Africa

About the role

Roche is seeking a Medical Science Liaison (MSL) for its Diagnostics portfolio in East Africa. The MSL will act as the scientific bridge between Roche and healthcare professionals, ensuring the highest standards of medical and clinical expertise across assigned therapeutic areas.

Key responsibilities

• Critically analyse medical and scientific literature, clinical trial designs and outcomes, and communicate findings internally and externally.
• Deliver continuing‑education workshops, seminars and scientific presentations on Roche diagnostic tests to physicians, laboratory technologists and scientists.
• Support the design and development of clinical trials and other scientific investigations.
• Represent Roche Diagnostics at national, regional and international scientific conferences and advisory boards.
• Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of clinical practices, regulations, laboratory guidelines and Good Promotional Practices.
• Act as the primary clinical/scientific contact for the assigned geography and disease/product areas, building relationships with key opinion leaders.
• Participate in cross‑functional tactical planning meetings and provide analyses, research and reporting to support global and regional medical plans.

Required profile

• Advanced degree in a medical, scientific or related field.
• Experience in diagnostics, clinical research or related therapeutic areas.
• Strong understanding of regulatory and quality guidelines applicable to medical communications.
• Proven ability to engage and educate healthcare professionals and key opinion leaders.
