Milk Procurement Manager – Dairy & FMCG

About the role

We are urgently looking for a Milk Procurement Manager to lead the development and management of a reliable, cost‑effective raw milk supply network for our processing plant. The role ensures uninterrupted supply while maintaining quality standards, controlling costs, and building sustainable relationships with farmers and suppliers.

Key responsibilities

• Design and execute the annual and long‑term milk procurement strategy.
• Forecast milk demand and create daily, weekly, monthly, and seasonal procurement plans.
• Establish and nurture relationships with dairy farmers, cooperatives, aggregators and other suppliers.
• Identify, evaluate and onboard new suppliers, maintaining an approved supplier database.
• Oversee milk collection centres, aggregation activities, routing and collection schedules.
• Ensure accurate weighing, recording, cooling, handling and transfer of milk.
• Collaborate with Quality Assurance to guarantee raw milk meets sampling and testing standards.
• Monitor milk quality indicators such as rejection rates, adulteration and antibiotic residues.
• Develop pricing recommendations and supplier incentive structures based on market, quality and volume.
• Negotiate and manage contracts within approved authority.
• Optimize collection and transportation logistics to reduce cost and risk.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Agriculture, Dairy Technology, Food Science, Business Administration, Economics or related field.
• 7–10 years of relevant experience, including 3–5 years in a managerial or supervisory role within milk procurement, dairy supply chain or FMCG procurement.
• Proven experience managing dairy farmers, cooperatives, aggregators, collection centres, logistics and supplier contracts.
• Strong knowledge of the Kenyan dairy sector is highly preferred.
• Professional procurement or supply‑chain qualification and membership of a relevant body are an advantage.

Required skills

• SAP or other ERP systems
