Monitoring and Evaluation Officer

About the role

The Monitoring and Evaluation Officer will oversee project performance, impact assessments and data quality for water service delivery in Nairobi. The role ensures that key metrics such as non‑revenue water, billing efficiency, water quality and sanitation coverage are accurately monitored and reported to support strategic decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor vital metrics including Non‑Revenue Water (NRW), billing efficiency, water quality and sanitation coverage.
• Contribute to the design and implementation of data collection tools and monitoring systems.
• Collect and analyze data on a regular basis.
• Interpret and disseminate M&E findings to various departments in line with company goals.
• Update and maintain the database to ensure staff accessibility.
• Prepare quarterly and annual reports reflecting project performance and impact indicators.
• Provide M&E reports to management for decision‑making.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Monitoring & Evaluation, Water Resources or a related field.
• Strong communication and report‑writing abilities.
• High level of integrity, responsibility and attention to detail.
• 5+ years of progressive M&E experience, including at least 2 years in a supervisory or management role.
• Deep understanding of water service delivery models and key performance indicators.

Required skills

• Proficiency in basic computer applications.
