Nutrition Specialist (Food Systems for Children)

About the role
The Nutrition Specialist will provide technical support for the development and implementation of policies, programmes, advocacy and knowledge generation aimed at transforming food systems for children in Kenya. Working under the supervision of the UNICEF Kenya Chief of Nutrition, the role focuses on addressing all forms of malnutrition across children, adolescents and mothers.
Key responsibilities
- Support the Chief of Nutrition in delivering technical assistance and oversight for food‑systems‑related nutrition programmes.
- Develop tools, guidance, and innovative approaches to improve nutrition outcomes.
- Generate evidence, analyse data and produce knowledge products for dissemination.
- Coordinate with UN agencies, NGOs, donors, academia and technical institutions on food‑systems initiatives.
- Ensure quality assurance and results‑based management across grants and projects.
Required profile
- Senior‑level professional with at least five years of relevant experience.
- Demonstrated expertise in nutrition, food systems and child health.
- Experience working with multi‑stakeholder partnerships and international organisations.
