About the role
The Paediatric Gastroenterologist will join the specialist team at Kenyatta National Hospital, reporting to the Head of Department. The role involves delivering high‑quality diagnostic, curative, rehabilitative and preventive care to children with gastrointestinal conditions.
Key responsibilities
- Provide specialised paediatric gastro‑enterology services, including diagnosis, treatment and follow‑up care.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop comprehensive care plans.
- Maintain accurate medical records and ensure compliance with hospital protocols.
- Participate in clinical audits, research activities and continuous quality improvement initiatives.
- Supervise and mentor junior medical staff and trainees in the department.
Required profile
- Masters of Medicine in Paediatrics or equivalent recognised by the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council.
- MBChB degree or equivalent recognised by the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council.
- Certification/Fellowship in Paediatric Gastroenterology from a recognised institution.
- Specialist recognition certificate and registration with the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council.
- Valid practising licence and professional indemnity cover.
