Paediatric Pulmonologist (Medical Specialist)

About the role

The Paediatric Pulmonologist will join the specialist team at Kenyatta National Hospital, reporting to the Head of Department. This full‑time position focuses on delivering high‑quality diagnostic, curative, rehabilitative and preventive respiratory care for children.

Key responsibilities

• Provide specialised paediatric pulmonary diagnostics, treatment and follow‑up care.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient‑centred care plans.
• Maintain accurate medical records and ensure compliance with hospital and regulatory standards.
• Participate in teaching, research and continuous professional development activities.

Required profile

• Master of Medicine in Paediatrics and Child Health recognised by the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council.
• MBChB or equivalent recognised qualification.
• Certification or Fellowship in Paediatric Pulmonology from a recognised institution.
• Specialist recognition certificate as a Paediatric Pulmonologist issued by the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council.
• Current registration and practising licence with the Council.
• Professional indemnity cover.
• Physicians with interest in Paediatric Pulmonology who are completing pre‑registration attachment are also encouraged to apply.
