About the role

Peponi's is looking for a passionate Pizza Chef to join our vibrant Nairobi restaurant. Working side‑by‑side with the Head Chef, you will craft authentic Neapolitan‑style pizzas and help raise the culinary standards of our buzzing bar and dining area.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and cook Neapolitan‑style pizzas to the highest quality, ensuring consistency on every order.
• Manage the daily dough‑making process, including fermentation, proofing, and shaping.
• Operate and maintain the wood‑fired oven, controlling temperature and timing with precision.
• Collaborate on menu development, experimenting with toppings, seasonal specials, and new flavor combinations.
• Train and mentor newer pizzaioli, fostering a culture of excellence.
• Maintain kitchen cleanliness, organization, and strict food‑safety standards.
• Monitor inventory, prepare prep lists, and coordinate with suppliers for fresh ingredients.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Pizza Chef, Pizzaiolo, or similar role in a fast‑paced restaurant.
• Deep understanding of dough fermentation and wood‑fired oven techniques.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to deliver consistent results under pressure.
• Leadership qualities and a collaborative spirit.
• Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
