POL Facility Maintenance Manager

About the role

The POL Facility Maintenance Manager will lead the upkeep and repair of fuel systems, infrastructure and support facilities for the US Navy’s fuel supply on Diego Garcia. The role ensures safe, reliable operations while coordinating with contractors and government personnel.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement short- and long-range maintenance plans for fuel systems, storage, fire suppression, transfer infrastructure and related POL facilities.
• Inspect and monitor utilities, structures, truck refueling stations and other POL-related areas.
• Create and maintain spill prevention and countermeasure plans, ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
• Coordinate with contractor and government teams, as well as fire protection, logistics, equipment and grounds maintenance units.
• Supervise maintenance and repair activities to maintain optimal functionality of the fuel infrastructure.
• Monitor compliance with operational, environmental and safety standards across the POL facility.

Required profile

• At least five years of experience coordinating and managing bulk fuel operations.
• Strong knowledge of spill prevention and countermeasure planning and related regulations.
• Proven ability to develop and oversee maintenance plans for complex fuel systems.
• Experience conducting facility inspections and ensuring operational compliance.
• Demonstrated leadership in multi-functional team environments.
• Excellent communication, organization and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to meet contract medical requirements.
