Programs Lead – Family Planning & Reproductive Health

About the role

The Programs Lead will head the family planning and reproductive health portfolio for Kenya and Tanzania, ensuring programmes deliver impact, value for money and meet donor requirements. Reporting to senior management, you will coordinate cross‑functional teams, manage budgets and drive continuous improvement of service delivery.

Key responsibilities

  • Oversee and lead Kenya/Tanzania programmes, monitoring results, budgets and compliance.
  • Develop and execute family planning and reproductive health activities, including proposals, work plans and donor reports.
  • Manage the programmes department staff and collaborate with sales, marketing and external research partners.
  • Coordinate training programmes for healthcare workers, both in‑person and virtual.
  • Monitor expenditures against budgets and ensure alignment with work plans and deliverables.
  • Steward relationships with internal and external partners, ensuring effective communication and coordination.

Required profile

  • Minimum 6 years progressive management experience in family planning or reproductive health programmes (private sector or NGO).
  • Bachelor’s degree in health science, management, administration, project management or related field; postgraduate qualification in public health or nursing is a plus.
  • Experience in fundraising, donor grant management and programme reporting.
  • Strong knowledge of the family planning/reproductive health context in East Africa.
  • Excellent written communication and ability to synthesize information into concise reports.
  • Passion for family planning and reproductive health issues.
