Project Manager – Upstream (Oil & Gas) – Nairobi

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Project Manager to lead upstream oil & gas projects in Nairobi. The role involves planning, coordinating and delivering multidisciplinary initiatives while supporting business development across Kenya and East Africa.

Key responsibilities

• Lead upstream project activities from concept to delivery.
• Develop project plans, schedules, budgets and tracking tools.
• Coordinate technical, commercial, procurement, logistics, HSE and operational workstreams.
• Monitor timelines, risks, budgets and performance metrics.
• Support preparation of EOIs, tenders, technical proposals and commercial submissions.
• Identify and track business opportunities in the region.
• Facilitate project meetings, stakeholder engagements and progress reviews.
• Ensure compliance with HSSEQ standards, contractual and regulatory requirements.
• Prepare reports, dashboards and executive presentations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Project Management, Energy, Business or related field (Master’s a plus).
• Minimum 7 years experience in oil & gas, energy or infrastructure sectors.
• Experience with upstream projects or operations is highly desirable.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and decision‑making abilities.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
