Quality Controller – Fresh Food (Male)

About the role

The company is seeking a diligent Quality Controller to oversee the quality and safety of fresh food produce throughout processing. The role is based in Westlands, Nairobi and requires a male candidate who can work flexible hours in a fast‑paced environment.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect fresh produce to verify freshness and compliance with quality standards.
• Monitor processing activities and ensure adherence to food safety procedures.
• Conduct checks on raw materials, packaging, processed items and finished goods.
• Identify, document and report any contamination, spoilage or defects.
• Maintain hygiene and sanitation standards across the processing area.
• Keep accurate quality control records and prepare inspection reports.
• Collaborate with production and other departments to resolve quality issues.
• Verify that products meet company specifications before dispatch.
• Assist in implementing corrective and preventive actions.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Quality Control, Food Processing or a related field.
• At least 24 months of experience in fresh food produce or food processing.
• Strong knowledge of food hygiene, safety and quality assurance procedures.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to spot quality issues.
• Good communication and reporting skills.
• Willingness to work late hours when required.
• Male candidate preferred.
