Registered Nurse – Outpatient Clinic

About the role

Penda Health is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to join its outpatient clinic in Westlands, Nairobi. You will deliver high‑quality clinical care, including patient assessment, triage, maternal‑child health (MCH) and family planning services, and safe medication administration.

Key responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive clinical services, including initial patient assessment, triage, MCH/FP counseling, and nursing procedures.
• Administer IV or IM medications following best nursing practices.
• Maintain a well‑stocked, clean, and sterile medical centre ready for routine and emergency cases.
• Champion Infection Prevention and Control by applying Penda Health’s IPC protocols.
• Record patient data accurately in real‑time using Penda’s electronic medical record system.
• Complete Ministry of Health reporting requirements promptly and accurately.
• Deliver quality patient education and ensure an excellent patient experience.
• Participate in continuous professional development and support process‑improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Diploma in Nursing (KRCHN) with a valid practicing license from the Nursing Council of Kenya.
• Current BLS certification (mandatory); ACLS certification is an advantage.
• Minimum of 2 years experience in a busy healthcare facility, preferably with MCH/FP exposure.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to interact effectively with patients.
• Proficiency in using electronic health records and digital health tools.
