Senior Accountant - Finance Team Lead

About the role

Euro Africa Travel is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to lead its finance team in Nairobi. The role combines strategic financial oversight with hands‑on management of reporting, budgeting, and compliance activities.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and manage accurate financial reports in line with accounting standards and company policies.
• Oversee account reconciliation, resolve discrepancies, and maintain a balanced general ledger.
• Develop, monitor, and update budgets and forecasts to support strategic planning.
• Manage tax preparation and ensure full compliance with all tax regulations.
• Supervise accounts payable and receivable to maintain healthy cash flow.
• Conduct detailed financial and variance analysis to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
• Support internal and external audits by preparing schedules and responding to inquiries.
• Utilize advanced Excel functions and ERP software to improve reporting accuracy and operational efficiency.
• Lead, mentor, and develop a finance team of 20 professionals.
• Coordinate occasional business travel to collaborate with other branches and stakeholders.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years of accounting experience, preferably in a senior or team‑lead capacity.
• Proven ability to manage and develop a sizable finance team.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to financial integrity.
• Experience with tax preparation, compliance, and audit support.
• Ability to work independently and make strategic financial decisions.
