Senior Consultant – Climate and Sustainable Finance

About the role

PwC is seeking a Senior Consultant to lead climate and sustainable finance advisory work in Nairobi. The role involves providing expert guidance to governments, development partners, and financial institutions on climate‑related financing and sustainable investment strategies.

Key responsibilities

• Support and deliver climate finance and sustainable finance advisory assignments.
• Contribute to blended finance, fund structuring, and project preparation for implementation‑oriented advisory.
• Develop investment pipelines, financing strategies, and project preparation materials.
• Conduct economic, financial, and policy analysis related to sustainable investments.
• Support tracking, reporting, and accountability mechanisms for climate and sustainable finance programmes.
• Perform financial modelling to assess cash flows, financing scenarios, and investment considerations.
• Apply knowledge of sustainable finance taxonomies, ESG reporting, MRV frameworks, and impact reporting.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Climate Finance, Sustainable Finance, Economics, Development Studies, Finance, Public Policy or a related field.
• Professional certification in finance, ESG, climate finance or related areas.
• Minimum of 3 years of practitioner experience in climate finance, sustainable finance, development finance, project preparation or investment advisory.
• Proven experience working with governments, development partners, INGOs, multilateral institutions, or financial institutions.
