Stock Accountant – Textile & Manufacturing

About the role

The Stock Accountant will ensure accurate inventory records for raw materials, work‑in‑progress and finished goods within the textile and manufacturing environment. Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will collaborate closely with stores, procurement, production, sales and senior management to maintain reliable stock data.

Key responsibilities

• Record and monitor receipts of fabrics, yarn, threads, zips, buttons, packaging materials and other inputs.
• Reconcile supplier invoices, purchase orders and Goods Received Notes in the ERP system.
• Track material consumption against production requirements and investigate unusual usage.
• Maintain detailed records of material issues, returns, transfers and wastage.
• Monitor work‑in‑progress, reconcile production issues, returns and finished‑goods output.
• Ensure finished‑goods movements are accurately reflected in stock records and identify slow‑moving or obsolete items.
• Conduct regular stock reconciliations and support periodic stock‑taking activities.

Required profile

• Entry‑level accounting qualification with at least 3 years of relevant experience.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to investigate variances.
• Good understanding of inventory flow from raw material receipt to finished‑goods dispatch.

Required skills

• Proficiency in using ERP systems for inventory accounting.
• Ability to reconcile invoices, purchase orders and goods received notes.
• Basic knowledge of Bills of Materials (BOM) and production order tracking.
