Supervisory Wage and Hour Specialist

About the role

The Wage and Hour Division seeks a seasoned professional to lead a team in enforcing federal wage and hour laws. As a Supervisory Wage and Hour Specialist you will guide investigations, resolve complex employee issues, and represent the agency in high‑level discussions with labor and management stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Make decisions on work problems, select subordinates, and approve disciplinary actions.
• Assess staff performance against program requirements and develop corrective actions.
• Identify, investigate, and recommend solutions for major compliance issues.
• Maintain and issue fact sheets, training materials, the Field Operations Handbook, and related guidance.
• Represent the Wage and Hour Division in conferences with labor, management, and government officials on immigration and farm labor matters.
• Ensure enforcement policies and procedures are legally sound.

Required profile

• U.S. citizenship and at least 16 years of age.
• 52 weeks of specialized experience at the GS‑14 level or equivalent.
• Ability to obtain required security clearance and meet supervisory financial disclosure requirements.
• Individual Occupational Requirement (IOR) compliance.
• Must possess at least two of the three specialized criteria: knowledge of federal wage‑and‑hour laws, analytical decision‑making skills, and strong interpersonal communication abilities.
