About the role
The MEAL Officer will ensure effective Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning (MEAL) practices within BRAC Kenya. The role oversees program quality monitoring, data analysis and management, reporting, capacity building of staff, and contributes to continuous program improvement.
Key responsibilities
- Implement and manage MEAL systems at field level, including the AIM M&E Framework and Binsight reporting.
- Conduct regular monitoring visits to assess implementation progress and compliance with indicators.
- Lead design, implementation and statistical analysis of Touchpoint 1 and 4 using SPSS or Stata.
- Develop and refine monitoring tools, data collection processes and quality assurance procedures.
- Coordinate quality monitoring exercises and produce comprehensive reports for decision‑making.
- Manage program data, perform data cleaning, validation and descriptive analysis.
- Create data visualisation products such as dashboards, graphs and charts for internal and external reporting.
- Prepare timely MEAL reports (monthly, quarterly, annual) highlighting findings, lessons learned and recommendations.
- Facilitate learning sessions and workshops to promote evidence‑based decision making.
- Provide technical support and capacity‑building training on MEAL concepts, survey techniques and data quality assurance.
- Support safeguarding by ensuring a safe working environment and following reporting procedures.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Monitoring & Evaluation, Statistics, Business Information Technology, Mathematics, Economics or related field.
- Minimum of 3 years experience in monitoring, evaluation and learning within the international development sector.
- Proficiency with statistical analysis software (SPSS, Stata) and experience in database management.
- Demonstrated experience conducting surveys, interviews and assessments.
- Strong analytical and report‑writing skills with excellent written and spoken English.
- Computer literacy including word‑processing and data analysis tools; database experience preferred.
- Experience with logical framework analysis and participatory rural appraisal is highly desirable.
