About the role
Action Against Hunger USA is seeking a Temporary Support Assistant to contribute to its advocacy work focused on the Horn of Africa. This entry‑level position offers hands‑on experience in policy research, digital campaigning, and event logistics within a humanitarian organization.
Key responsibilities
- Support the planning, development, and implementation of advocacy activities and campaigns.
- Assist in creating multimedia packages, policy analyses, toolkits, and social‑media content.
- Help organise and execute workshops, webinars, trainings and other events.
- Monitor humanitarian landscapes in the Horn of Africa and gather relevant data.
- Manage external‑relations assets such as website updates, social‑media platforms and monthly newsletters in collaboration with the Global Communications team.
- Ensure all communication products comply with branding and donor guidelines.
- Provide general administrative support to the Advocacy Specialist.
Required profile
- Interest in humanitarian advocacy and policy research.
- Ability to work under the supervision of the Regional Advocacy Specialist.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Willingness to engage with field teams and collect stories and visual material.
