Volunteer – Digital Transformation & Data Management for Conservation

About the role

Conserv Congo is seeking motivated volunteers to support its digital transformation, data management and technology needs. This remote, unpaid position allows you to apply your professional expertise to strengthen conservation systems in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

Key responsibilities

• Develop or improve digital tools and software solutions that aid field teams and partners.
• Assist with data collection, cleaning, analysis and visualization to inform conservation decisions.
• Create communication assets such as graphics, stories or presentations that showcase impact.
• Support fundraising and proposal writing by providing technical inputs and data-driven arguments.
• Conduct research on legal, policy or monitoring frameworks relevant to wildlife protection.
• Help design training materials and organizational processes to build local capacity.

Required profile

• Passion for environmental conservation and African‑led initiatives.
• Ability to work independently 5–10 hours per week on a virtual basis.
• Strong communication skills in English.
• Professional experience in any of the listed focus areas (technology, data, communications, fundraising, research, legal, M&E, etc.).

Required skills

• Experience with technology or software development projects.
• Data analysis and management capabilities.
• Graphic design or storytelling for communications.
• Fundraising, proposal development, or research writing experience.
