Weighbridge Operator (Fixed-Term)

About the role

We are seeking a Fixed‑Term Weighbridge Operator to accurately weigh all incoming and outgoing commodities at our Kenya site, manage primary documentation, and support logistics compliance for One Acre Fund’s agricultural operations.

Key responsibilities

• Operate weighbridge software to record gross, tare and net weights for all transport vehicles.
• Implement a calibration protocol for all scales to prevent financial loss from inaccurate weighing.
• Follow strict vehicle positioning and driver conduct protocols during the weighing process.
• Monitor SOP compliance across sourcing and logistics to ensure zero‑gap performance.
• Reconcile volume purchased in the field with volume received at the factory gate.
• Design and maintain collection logs to guarantee data integrity between field and hub.
• Issue official weighbridge tickets and verify them against delivery notes and farmer payment records.
• Identify and report non‑conformances; collaborate with cross‑functional teams on corrective actions.
• Manage vehicle flow, enforce PPE requirements, and ensure safety inductions for non‑staff personnel.
• Conduct quick audits of fleet sanitary condition and verify cleanliness of incoming vehicles before they access the weighbridge.

Required profile

• Experience operating a weighbridge or similar weighing equipment.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow documented procedures.
• Understanding of safety and OSHA‑type governance in a logistics environment.
• Ability to work collaboratively with field, logistics and finance teams.
