Bar Manager

About the role

Brites Management Services is hiring a full-time Bar Manager in Kibwezi. The manager oversees the daily operations of the bar, ensuring excellent customer service, efficient inventory control, profitability and compliance with company policies and licensing regulations. The role calls for strong leadership and the ability to build a welcoming environment that drives revenue.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day bar operations, keeping the bar clean and organized and following opening and closing checklists
• Deliver high-quality customer service, handle complaints professionally and build relationships that encourage repeat business
• Supervise bartenders, waitstaff and support staff, prepare schedules, train and mentor them, and run regular performance evaluations
• Manage beverage inventory, run regular stock counts, minimize waste and theft, coordinate ordering and keep accurate records
• Monitor daily sales, reconcile cash, control costs, suggest pricing strategies and promote sales through promotions and upselling
• Ensure compliance with liquor licensing laws, enforce responsible alcohol service, maintain food safety and hygiene, and report accidents and safety concerns
• Prepare daily, weekly and monthly reports, track key performance indicators and assist management with budgeting and planning

Required profile

• Diploma or certificate in Hospitality Management, Business Administration or a related field is an added advantage
• At least 2 years of relevant experience in bar operations or hospitality management
• Previous supervisory or managerial experience preferred
