Executive Housekeeper / Housekeeping Manager

About the role

Reef Hotel in Mombasa is hiring a full-time Executive Housekeeper (Housekeeping Manager) to join its management team and report to the General Manager. The role leads the day-to-day running of Rooms, Public Areas and Laundry Services, aiming to deliver excellent customer experiences and world-class products and services.

Key responsibilities

• Track, report on and achieve targets, and mentor team leaders to build high-performing teams.
• Supervise daily operations of Rooms, Public Areas and Laundry Services, ensuring guest rooms and public areas stay clean and linen, uniforms and guest laundry meet required standards.
• Train staff on standard operating procedures (SOPs) and ensure 100% compliance; develop and implement SOPs for the three areas.
• Plan and schedule housekeeping and laundry staff, and conduct monthly performance reviews leading to promotion, replacement or repositioning.
• Set up a guest satisfaction feedback system, review feedback with the leadership team and take corrective action.
• Monitor service delivery regularly and work with the management team to improve cleanliness and service.
• Develop revenue-enhancement packages for laundry, linen and other housekeeping services, audit and control inventories and operational records, and review operational costs regularly.
• Promote the hotel's vision, mission and values and take part in corporate social responsibility activities.

Required profile

• Degree in Hospitality Management or a Business course.
• At least 3 years of experience in a senior leadership position.
• Ability to execute operational plans, lead mid- and short-term targets, and manage multi-disciplinary teams.

Required skills

• Working knowledge of housekeeping operations, rooms and public areas, and laundry services.
• Budgeting and planning processes.
