Business Development and Grants Manager

About the role

Trōcaire is seeking a Business Development and Grants Manager to join its senior management team in Somalia. The role will drive the diversification and growth of the funding base for country programmes, raise Trōcaire’s profile with donors, and lead the design and submission of high‑quality project proposals.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, review and update the country institutional funding strategy and annual action plan.
• Maintain a comprehensive database of potential donors and monitor donor priorities, calls and requirements.
• Provide regular updates to management and programme teams on donor strategies, thematic and geographic focus areas.
• Lead the design and implementation of funding proposals that align with programme needs and donor streams.
• Advise the team on matching donor funding opportunities and structure application approaches.
• Collaborate closely with the Global Partnerships and Funding Unit (GPFU) at Head Office to meet organisational targets.
• Directly manage a Grants and Compliance Officer.

Required profile

• Member of the senior management team with responsibility for fundraising and donor relations.
• Experience working in humanitarian or development contexts, preferably in Somalia.
• Strong knowledge of country strategic frameworks and programme portfolios.
• Ability to work closely with cross‑functional teams and senior leadership.
