Finance Assistant – Nairobi

About the role

The Finance Assistant will support IRC's financial operations in Nairobi, ensuring compliance with internal controls, donor requirements and timely processing of payments and reconciliations.

Key responsibilities

• Process cash payments, invoice and payment journals, and ensure proper authorization and posting in the Integra system.
• Manage accounts payable/receivable data entry, verify 3‑way match for vendor invoices, and track vendor payments.
• Prepare weekly bank reconciliation statements and flag discrepancies to the Finance Manager.
• Maintain organized filing for invoice and payment journals and support audit documentation retrieval.
• Monitor travel‑related expenses from Emburse and coordinate incentive payroll submissions with HR.

Required profile

• Minimum CPA II qualification or university degree in Finance/Accounting.
• At least 1 year of finance or accounting experience in a similar role.
• Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines and maintain confidentiality.
• Strong communication skills and adaptability to new tasks.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with ERP systems (Integra) and Microsoft 365.
