Litigation Advocate – Nairobi

About the role

Emerge Egress Consulting is recruiting a motivated Litigation Advocate to join a leading law firm in Nairobi. The role involves handling high‑value litigation matters, providing legal advice to clients, and supporting the firm’s litigation department in achieving successful outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and file pleadings, motions and other court documents.
• Represent clients in hearings, motions and trial proceedings.
• Conduct legal research, due diligence and draft legal opinions.
• Draft, review and negotiate settlement agreements.
• Manage case deadlines, court schedules and ensure timely filings.
• Communicate case updates to clients in clear, non‑technical language.
• Collaborate with senior advocates and colleagues on complex cases.
• Handle invoicing, fee collection and maintain strong client relationships.

Required profile

• At least two (2) years post‑admission experience in a busy law firm.
• LLB degree from a recognized university and a valid practicing certificate.
• Unquestionable integrity, high professionalism and strong interpersonal skills.
• Excellent written and oral communication, research and drafting abilities.
• Result‑oriented, self‑motivated with high attention to detail.
