Systems Accountant – Finance Systems Modernisation

About the role

Trócaire is seeking a Systems Accountant to lead the modernisation of its finance systems across global operations. The role will be based in Maynooth, Ireland (or Nairobi, Kenya) and will involve regular travel to support country offices.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute the finance systems roadmap, prioritising improvements that enhance controls and reduce manual processes.
• Collaborate with Finance, Enterprise Systems, country offices and external suppliers to embed digital ways of working.
• Improve data quality and reporting, enabling better decision‑making and consistent use of the Unit4 finance system.
• Support system implementation projects and finance transformation initiatives.

Required profile

• Qualified or part‑qualified accountant, or equivalent experience in finance systems, reporting or finance operations.
• Strong understanding of accounting processes, financial controls and reporting cycles.
• Experience with finance transformation or ERP/system implementations.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel and data analysis.
• Practical knowledge of Unit4 or similar ERP/accounting systems.
