Director of Specialist Sales – Consumer Issuing

About the role

The Consumer Issuing team drives sustainable growth across Mastercard’s consumer card portfolio, including credit, debit, prepaid and premium products. The Director will lead new product sales, portfolio optimisation, consumer acquisition and revenue growth for existing and prospective issuing clients.

Key responsibilities

• Drive sales and commercialization of new consumer card products across all segments.
• Develop and manage a strong sales pipeline from identification to launch.
• Create client strategies to increase card acquisition, activation, spend and transaction volume.
• Identify and implement portfolio optimisation initiatives to improve performance and profitability.
• Partner with clients to design bespoke customer value propositions tailored to priority consumer segments.
• Develop business cases, go‑to‑market strategies and champion innovative Mastercard products and services.
• Leverage analytics, consumer insights and market trends to uncover growth opportunities.
• Build strong relationships with senior client stakeholders and act as a trusted adviser.

Required profile

• 8+ years of experience in consumer cards, payments or retail banking, with a strong commercial orientation.
• Proven track record in strategic planning, sales pipeline management and revenue growth.
• Experience launching new products and driving acquisition, activation, usage and retention.
• Ability to work cross‑functionally and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Excellent communication, presentation and stakeholder management skills.
