Head of Fleet

About the role

The Head of Fleet will lead Jiwambe’s electric motorcycle fleet operations in Nairobi, ensuring high performance, safety, and optimal utilization. This full‑time, on‑site position reports to senior management and works closely with supply‑chain, procurement, and customer‑service teams.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee day‑to‑day fleet operations, including vehicle allocation, maintenance scheduling, and uptime monitoring.
• Coordinate with supply‑chain and procurement to secure timely delivery of motorcycles, parts, and equipment while controlling costs.
• Lead, mentor, and set performance targets for the fleet operations team.
• Implement processes that improve driver experience, service quality, and compliance with local regulations.
• Collaborate with customer‑service to resolve fleet‑related issues and maintain high satisfaction levels.
• Contribute to strategic planning for fleet expansion, sustainability initiatives, and data‑driven decision making.

Required profile

• Strong background in operations and supply‑chain management, preferably in logistics or mobility sectors.
• Proven experience in procurement, vendor management, and contract negotiation.
• Demonstrated team‑leadership abilities, including coaching and performance management.
• Excellent customer‑service orientation to address driver and partner needs.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Operations, Supply Chain, Engineering or related field; professional certifications are a plus.

• Ability to analyse operational data and use dashboards or fleet‑management systems for decision‑making.
• Strong organizational, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
