Part-time PhD Peer Reviewer – Metabolism

About the role

This is a long‑term, stable part‑time position that allows you to work remotely as a peer reviewer for manuscripts in the field of metabolism. The role is ideal for researchers with a recent record of scholarly publications who wish to contribute to the scientific community.

Key responsibilities

• Assess the novelty of submitted manuscripts and determine their contribution to the field.
• Evaluate study design, methodology, and reproducibility of the research.
• Check that literature reviews are comprehensive and up‑to‑date.
• Analyse results and conclusions to ensure they are supported by the data.
• Provide clear, constructive feedback and highlight any ethical concerns.
• Recommend acceptance, revision, or rejection to the journal editor.

Required profile

• Doctorate (PhD) or equivalent advanced degree in a relevant subject area.
• At least five peer‑reviewed papers published in SCI/SSCI journals within the past three years.
• Strong understanding of research methodologies and ethical standards.
• Excellent analytical, critical thinking, and written communication skills.
• Ability to meet deadlines and manage time effectively.
• Commitment to confidentiality and objectivity.
• Prior experience as a peer reviewer is highly desirable.
