Primary (P1) Teacher – Community School in Kibera

About the role

We are seeking a dedicated Primary (P1) Teacher to join our community school in Kibera, Nairobi. The role focuses on delivering quality foundational education to young learners, fostering a supportive and engaging classroom environment.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and deliver lesson plans aligned with the approved curriculum.
• Manage classroom discipline and create a positive learning atmosphere.
• Assess and evaluate learner progress through tests and observations.
• Develop teaching materials and exercises to reinforce concepts.
• Maintain accurate student records and produce regular reports.
• Support co‑curricular activities and school events.
• Communicate regularly with parents and school administration.

Required profile

• Diploma in Primary Teacher Education (P1 Certificate) or equivalent.
• Registered with the Teachers Service Commission (TSC).
• Minimum 2–3 years of teaching experience (preferred).
• Strong classroom management abilities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Passion for working with children in a community school setting.
